Confidentiality Policy
Your privacy is very important to me. What you share during our sessions is protected by law and kept confidential. Information can only be released if you provide written consent.
However, there are a few situations where I am legally and ethically required to break confidentiality to ensure safety:
- If I suspect or learn of child abuse, elder abuse, or abuse of a dependent adult, I must report it to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If you share an intention to harm someone else, I am required to notify law enforcement and, if possible, the intended person.
- If you are at risk of seriously harming yourself, I may need to seek additional support, including psychiatric services, to help keep you safe.
