I am an African American licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, native to and practicing in Richmond, California.
I primarily work with adolescents (14 to 17) as well as adults, and specialize in individual and family therapy. I have over 13 years of experience providing individuals, families and adolescents with mental health services. I utilize approaches that are client-centered and collaborative. I do not believe in a “cookie-cutter” solution, therefore, therapeutic approaches will vary and be unique to each client and their situation. I use a relaxed, interactive therapeutic style, while incorporating cultural awareness, empathy, directness and humor. I provide unbiased, genuine support that will motivate and encourage my clients to develop a greater sense of self, identify and decrease stressors to attain practical, life-changing goals. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, as well as a minor in Ethnic Studies at California State University, Sacramento. I also obtained a Masters of Science degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage, Family and Children at California State University, Sacramento.
I am licensed through the Board of Behavioral Sciences-License #94913
